Outbound Program on
Building Better Team Work
Duration -TWO (2) DAYS
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Team building is facilitated by sharing and collaborating experiences and
work space.
Outbound programs are powerful tool for learning because it allows
participants to review and test their paradigms and behavior pattern in a
non-threatening environment – by providing challenge as well as fun.
Insufficient opportunity to test and review these may leave people with a
‘high-and-dry’ feeling. It is critical therefore to capture these feeling
and allow them to sink-in, while the experience lasts.
Outbound Program on Building Better Team Work provides a
Safe Environment to test out new ideas and concepts with focus on how to
work together as a team.
With our team events we build loads of play and fun to illustrate the
crucial nature of building teamwork and communication in the business
environment.
PROGRAM METHODOLOGY
The Outbound Program on Building Better Team Work will follow an
experiential route for active learning.
• The participants will be put through activities that are designed to
Highlight Key Issues explained.
• At the end of the each activity, Key Learning Outcome will be reinforced
during de-briefing by teams and the Facilitator(s).
Active learning accrues through deft handling of
activities coupled with expert de-briefing.
The activities help participants look at self and their team abilities,
related mental models and paradigms. There are several activities and
variations that are used during the two-days depending upon:
• The Energy Level of participants
• Their pace of learning
• Their Special Development Needs as assessed during the Pre-Workshop
Discussions.
Some of the typical activities that may be used on a generic basis, in any
combination are mentioned in the Program Outline (these are only indicative
and not the only ones to be used).
PROGRAM OUTLINE
CHALLENGING SELF TO STRETCH PERFORMANCE LEVELS
• This activity helps participants to first articulate and then review their
own performance paradigms.
• It shows how setting higher benchmarks helps achieve higher results. This
game demonstrates that if you set lower targets, you achieve lower results
and if you set higher targets you achieve higher results.
• It also shows that impediments are not a function of targets set but an
internal mental phenomenon.
• It then drives home a key learning that setting higher but realistic
targets is always helpful.
UNDERSTANDING ELEMENTS OF A GOOD TEAM
• This is a mental activity but releases high energy levels in groups.
• Depending upon the size of the group, it could last for up to 3 hours.
This finishes with debriefing and a small lecturette from the Facilitator.
• Elements of a real-time Work Situation could also be built into in.
• At the end of this session, the participants will have an active
understanding of what makes a good team, what are the critical elements of a
high-performance team.
SERIOUS SOCCER
• Intra team collaboration, ability to identify and exploit available human
resources to the full and mutual trust is some of the key elements that are
highlighted during this session.
• This is a high energy activity and uses real soccer ball but played on a
much smaller pitch. Some members are blind folded and other have to guide
and cheer them to play and score.
• The Exercise Tests Communication Abilities as well as Communication
Pattern under stress and/or pressure situation.
MEASURE MY TOWER PEAK
• This activity builds on strategizing, identifying appropriate resources,
and thinking on the feet, collaborating and leading with a high desire to
succeed.
• All these elements are put to test in this activity. It is an outdoor
activity and generates high energy levels.
STRETCHING SELF AND OPTIMIZING RESOURCES FOR SUCCESS
• Four legged race or plank and rope for group race forces participants to
think for innovative ways to tackle challenges of market and life.
• They have to find creative ways to mitigate this. The success rides on two
planks – creativity and team ability. Engagement and involvement of team
members plays a crucial role in this activity.
BREACH
• This outdoor activity engages participants in designing a strategy that
continuously challenges their thinking paradigms and forces to be creative
under pressure.
• This also highlights identifying and utilizing resources, whatever the
circumstances.
• Using team members’ Individual Strengths to identify and utilize
resources, optimize output are some of the key learning from this activity.
